Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS launched with a familiar design and new advanced heart-monitoring features
Mobvoi has unveiled the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS after many teasers on its social media channels. As expected, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS retains the Snapdragon Wear 4100 that Mobvoi uses in the TicWatch Pro 3 and TicWatch E3. A custom co-processor remains as well, which the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS uses for its secondary FTSN display.
The new model also has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, matching the TicWatch Pro 3. Similarly, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS measures 47 x 48 x 12.3 mm and weighs 41 g without a band attached. The smartwatch has a 1.4-inch AMOLED display too that operates at 454 x 454 pixels with a 326 PPI. In short, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS has the same displays, memory and SoC as the model that Mobvoi released last year.
IP68 certification remains, now complemented by MIL-STD-810G certification. Please note that an independent body does not certify MIL-STD-810G test results; Mobvoi awarded the certification itself. The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS also contains a compass, while an HD PPG Heart Rate sensor replaces the PPG equivalent in the TicWatch Pro 3.
Additionally, Mobvoi's latest smartwatch supports Irregular Heart Beat (IHB) detection, which can spot atrial fibrillation (AFib). The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS can monitor heart rate variability (HRV) too, although Mobvoi stresses that these features are 'not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition[s]'.
Overall, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS is a minor refinement of last year's model. The smartwatch is available to order now on Amazon or through Mobvoi's website. The smartwatch is available for £289.99 in the UK, US$299.99 in the US and €299.99 in the Eurozone. The company states that an LTE model will be available in November.
