Kate Middleton and Prince William have been dating each other for over five years before he proposed to her. According to royal experts, there was a time when the Duke and Duchess had to decide where their relationship was heading to.

At one point in their relationship, Middleton demanded more commitment from the royal prince. According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl in a 2011 documentary, Middleton pushed Prince William into a corner.

Nicholl believed at the time, Middleton wanted more commitment from him because he was busy with his military service, exams, and training. “He was very involved with his military commitments. According to Nicholl, Prince William would be at the Bovington barracks during weekdays. And on weekends, he would stay with his new Army pals. So, his military commitments took up all his time.

He was so engrossed with it that he didn’t want to return to London on weekends where Middleton had been waiting for him. Royal correspondent Camilla Tominey weighed on the Cambridges’ relationship.

However, he took his time because he didn’t want to do the same mistake as his father, Prince Charles. The Prince of Wales was also pressured into marrying Princess Diana. She was the perfect royal bride. At the time, he was already 32 and was pressured to settle down.
