Lexington was electric for several days leading up to Saturday’s main event. LSU fans were out in full force around town beginning Thursday night, they had a large presence at Keeneland on Friday, and seemed to take over half of the KSBar and Grille pregame on Saturday.
However, Big Blue Nation answered the bell all weekend long providing the second all-time great atmosphere in as many weeks. That was never more true than moments before kickoff under the lights at Kroger Field.
Fans Take Over National Anthem
Dr. Everrett McCorvey, the Director of Opera Theatre at the University of Kentucky School of Music, began his rendition of the National Anthem in normal fashion.
