Colts Injury Report: RB Hines, LB Leonard, DE Paye and RT Smith All Miss Practice

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts today released their Thursday injury report for Week 5 of the NFL season ahead of their Monday night game.

Running back Nyheim Hines missed practice today with a shoulder injury. Hines played sparingly against the Dolphins after fumbling a punt. It appeared as though Hines had been benched after the fumble but him not practicing today might explain the low usage. Hines is a massive part of the Colts offense and a big playmaker for the team.

Linebacker Darius Leonard missed practice today with an ankle injury. Leonard has been dealing with an ankle injury the whole season so far. Leonard did look slightly on the mend against the Dolphins and looked a lot quicker. Leonard is still rehabbing his ankle injury whilst still trying to practice and playing every week.

Defensive end Kwity Paye missed practice today with a hamstring injury. Paye missed the game last week with the hamstring injury which he picked up against the Titans. Coach Reich said today that the teams was optimistic about Paye and it sounded like he might have a chance to return this week.

Right tackle Braden Smith missed practice today with foot and thumb injuries. Smith has been injured since the first game of the year. Coach Reich said today that Braden Smith would be working off to the side of practice today. Smith didn’t take part in team work, but it’s possible later this week. It sounded like there’s a chance he could return Monday night.

Safety Khari Willis was limited at practice today with ankle and groin injuries. Willis missed the game against the Dolphins with the ankle/groin injury. Andrew Sendejo filled in for Willis but he was still missed on the defense. Willis is a huge piece for the Colts especially in the secondary. Hopefully this is the step in the right direction for Willis in playing this week.

Cornerback Rock Ya-Sin was a full participant today. Ya-Sin missed the Dolphins game last Sunday and was sorely missed. Ya-Sin has probably been the Colts most consistent cornerback this year which has been a pleasant surprise. It’s trending for Ya-Sin to return this week.
