Manchester United chief Ed Woodward tied up Cristiano Ronaldo's sensational return to Old Trafford in Gary Lineker's garden, the Match of the Day host has revealed.
Ronaldo, 36, switched from Juventus to United this summer to huge fanfare from Red Devils supporters the world over, having left the club for Real Madrid 12 years ago.
United chief executive Woodward - who has come in for widespread criticism from fans throughout his tenure at the club - was instrumental in bringing Ronaldo back to the club, signing off on a £19.
