Giants’ Kenny Golladay: I was yelling at Jason Garrett

Wide receiver says he has no issues with the offensive coordinator

NFL: New York Giants at Washington Football Team Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

When cameras caught New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay blowing off steam near the end of Thursday’s loss to the Washington Football Team, it looked like his target was quarterback Daniel Jones. Turns out, his target was offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

“Pretty much just me talking to JG (offensive coordinator Jason Garrett) a little bit and that’s two competitive guys right there,” Golladay said. More so, just me wanting to do anything I can. Not so much, ‘Give me the ball more,’ though.”

Golladay is in his fifth year in the NFL and first with the Giants.

“Really, I’ve never done anything like that either – but really just passionate, just being a competitor,” Golladay said. “I love just doing anything I can to help the team. I let the emotions get the best of me.”

Golladay was targeted eight times against Washington, but had only three receptions. He has seven catches over two games.

Golladay said there are no issues between he and Garrett.

“I mean, that was literally right there during the game,” Golladay said. “Me and him spoke right after the game. It was literally nothing.”

Golladay said he “left some stuff out there” against Washington.

“Wish I could’ve made a few more plays,” he said.
