The Columbus Blue Jackets edged the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in overtime in the first game from the NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. Columbus overcame a two-goal deficit to eventually win the tilt in the extra session. Cole Fonstad, Tristan Mullin, Yegor Chinakov and Josh Dunne (GWG) scored for the Blue Jackets. Alex Steeves, Semyon Der-Arguchintsev and Matt Hellickson scored for the Maple Leafs.
Kirill Tyutyayev scored twice and Lucas Raymond, Joe Veleno and Chase Pearson also lit the lamp as the host Detroit Red Wings beat the Dallas Stars 5-4 in the night game from Traverse City.
