FanPost Friday: Mapping out the rotation

Who starts when, and how do you line things up?

We are now officailly in stretch run time, with just a few weeks left in the season and the race almost certainly coming right down to the wire. The two AL West teams aren’t out of it, but it’s starting to shape up as a race for two spots between three teams. One big advantage the Red Sox could have over the Yankees and Blue Jays is the fact that they have three more days off on their schedule, and including Thursday’s which made four, they have double the amount of the other teams.

There’s a little bit of downside there in that the other teams have the opportunity to pick up more wins the rest of the way, but the Red Sox can use that rest to their advantage. And perhaps the biggest way to do that is the rotation. The days off allow them to schedule their rotation differently and use pitchers in different roles.

That’s your task for this week’s FanPost Friday. How would you map out this rotation? Do you maximize starts for certain pitchers? Are you still a little extra cautious with Chris Sale? How do you use Tanner Houck? Are you thinking ahead to trying to line things up for the Wildcard Game? Let us know your plan with your Alex Cora hat on, which I suppose is just a Red Sox hat.

Leave us a FanPost, and you could be featured on the front page on Sunday ahead of round one. As always, here is our handy guide to making a FanPost.
