Marcus Rashford is well on the mend in his return from injury, and has begun training with the first team as well as continuing his rehabilitation after undergoing an operation at the end of the summer. Rashford sought help with a shoulder problem that had been lingering since last season, and elected to have an operation to fix the issue despite having to miss the first part of Manchester United’s new season.

Henry Winter of The Times reported that the decision has been made to ramp up his training after hugely positive progress in rehab. Rashford posted pictures of himself training, and he looks in very good shape. However, it is important to remember that he is still likely another month out of returning to first team action. Hopes are however that he will get some closed-door friendly action in before returning to the side for competitive fixtures.

News of Rashford’s rehab comes at a welcome time. Obviously his creativity and production on the pitch are missed, but he is also one of the few forwards who can drive build up play as well as get on the end of chances. His return, slated for sometime in early October, comes just ahead of a very difficult run of fixtures for United in the Premier League as well as the final matches of the UEFA Champions League group stage. His help will surely be welcome at the time of his return to fitness.
