Player ratings from Atlanta United’s 4-0 win over FC Cincinnati

GK Brad Guzan 6: A couple nice saves from shots inside the box, a couple missed sitters from Cincy, and not a whole lot else.

RWB Brooks Lennon 7: Lennon looks firmly back to his best form this season and has even more opportunities to impact the game thanks to the play of the brilliant attackers in front of him. Nearly scored on two occasions and once brought the ball down beautifully in front of goal.

CB Miles Robinson 7: Same old Miles Robinson. Had two very nice dribbles through the middle when he stepped up between the lines to win a ball and found space to carry the ball forward. There wasn’t a ton of individual defensive work for him to do, but he was an anchor at the back.

CB Alan Franco 7: It was a spectacular night on the score sheet for Franco, who set an Atlanta United record with three assists on the night. One of them was a joke s he was credited as having assisted Luiz Araujo’s golazo. But he was a threat on set pieces, which the team ha taken advantage of under Pineda. He would get an 8 if not for the egregious error at the back in the first half that should’ve led to a goal for Cincinnati. Thank you Brenner.

CB George Campbell 7: Campbell didn’t quite match the prolific display he put on against Orlando, but he was still quite good and looks every bit a starting MLS center back. He was actually hard done by the ref on one occasion in which he overpowered a Cincy attacker to show his strength.

LWB Jake Mulraney 7: Jake Mulraney definitely played in this game but due to everything else that happened I barely recall anything he did except for one nice dribble. Still, I have to imagine he was pretty good all things considered. Maybe y’al can fill me in.

CM Matheus Rossetto 7 - Rossetto wasn’t lowed to be as expansive as he was Friday vs Orlando due to the absence of Santiago Sosa. Gonzalo Pineda asked Rossetto to hold his position and be a fulcrum for the team just like Sosa typically is, and he did that job well.

CM Marcelino Moreno 7 - Playing in a deeper role tonight, Moreno executed what was asked of him even if it wasn’t always the prettiest thing in the world. With his fellow attackers looking lights out up top, Moreno in a deeper role needed to be mobile and available to those teammates in a supporting role, which is what he did. 10 ball recoveries helped secure the center of the pitch.

RW Luiz Araujo 9 - The goal was an 11 out of 10, no doubt. Maybe he single best individual goal I can recall seeing at Mercedes Benz Stadium, but maybe there will be some discussion about that as well. He looks dangerous every time he picks up the ball, gets the fans out of their seats (if they were sitting), and it’s simply a joy to think about what he will do for this team in the games and years to come.

LW Ezequiel Barco 9 (Man of the Match) - Barco was a menace. I know Araujo scored the incredible goal and Josef had a brace, but Barco is the player that really made the team tick and it was great that he was able to cap off his wonderful night with a goal for himself off a free kick.

ST Josef Martinez 9 - Tonight’s brace for the team’s talisman and line leader seemed like the extra icing on the cake for Atlanta United. Josef wasn’t totally sharp all game, but the goals should provide a big boost of confidence and it seems like this attack will be even more dangerous as they have more time to play together.

SUB George Bello 7 - Almost a carbon copy of his performance off the bench against Orlando. Not sure exactly why he didn’t start after a 30-minute appearance Friday (I assume just some extra precaution in terms of load management), but he did exactly what you’d have expected in a low-pressure situation.

SUB Mo Adams 7 - I know I’m giving lots of sevens, but it’s kind of just the standard in a dominant win like this. Pineda gave a special shoutout to Adams postgame for his aggression and willingness to pass forward.

SUBS Tyler Wolff, Jurgen Damm, Cubo Torres NA: No ratings for these guys who payed less than 20 minutes. Cubo and Damm obviously missed some sitters but we won’t dwell on that. Gonzalo Pineda gave a special shoutout to Tyler Wolff, who he says has been a pleasant surprise as a midfielder.
