Memphis Depay has won the goal of the month award given by FC Barcelona, for the best goal scored in the month of August.
Memphis’s effort at San Mamés, in a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao was chosen via fan vote.
There were four nominees in the running, including two by Memphis. One was the goal against Athletic that won, and the other one was against Getafe. Gerard Piqué and Martin Braithwaite were also nominated for goals against Real Sociedad.
With Barcelona trailing 1-0 in the second half against Athletic, Sergi Roberto hooked a hopeful long ball towards Memphis.
