On Friday, the Cubs placed left-handed pitcher Adam Morgan on the bereavement list. In a corresponding move, they have recalled right-handed pitcher Tommy Nance from the Triple-A Iowa Cubs. A stint on MLB’s bereavement list must last for at least three days, but no more than seven days

This is Tommy Nance’s third trip up to Chicago this season and currently has a record of 1-0 with a 5.06 ERA (12 ER/21.1 IP) in 19 relief appearances. In previous stints with the team has walked 10 and struck out 23, giving him an average of 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings. In Iowa his record is 1-0 with a 2.35 ERA (4 ER/15.1 IP) with a 0.65 WHIP in 10 relief appearances.

Morgan, 31, has no record, four holds, two saves and a 3.32 ERA (8 ER/21.2 IP) in 29 relief appearances for Chicago since he was selected from Iowa, June 29.
