Texas Tech is welcoming Stephen F. Austin to Lubbock in week 2 college football action.

Both teams will enter into this week with a 1-0 record and looking to start a win streak.

The Lumberjacks come from the FCS level and are coming off a 20-10 win against Tarleton State last week. Obviously not super impressive, the Red Raiders shouldn’t struggle too much, at least we’d hope.

Tech and SFA last met in 2016 in a matchup that saw Tech win 69-17. Obviously 2 completely different squads but the results shouldn’t be too much different this week.

I’m not gonna sugar coat anything. Tech should destroy SFA. It should not be close. Key word here is should. We saw it last year against Houston Baptist. Another team that Tech should’ve obliterated, but instead had an absolute shootout with. These are the games that you dominate.

The Red Raiders had a great 2nd half showing against Houston last week and should be able to build off that in week 2. Some key things to watch will be seeing if the offensive line continues to develop chemistry with more playing time together. We saw what Tyler Shough can do with some protection, now the o-line just needs to continue to improve and that's what these next 2 games are for.

Look for the defense to continue to dominate these next 2 weeks also. Look for the secondary to improve and the pass rush to continue taking steps. Obviously last week was no where close to perfect, but the steps both those groups took throughout the game were very welcome sights to see.

Have I stated before this game shouldn’t be close?

Anyways, look for Tech to come out firing and put this game away early.

Final score prediction: Tech 52 - SFA 6
