    A pastor arrested on multiple felony charges of sexual assault in both Alabama and Mississippi says he's sorry. Multiple victims allege the pastor used his position to rape and sexually abuse church members.

    Authorities across multiple jurisdictions collaborated in the investigation of Gregory Renee Adams, 63, pastor at Life Song Ministries in Citronelle, Alabama. The Mobile Police Department ﴾MPD﴿ Special Victims Unit states that Adams found victims through churches in Waynesboro, Mississippi as well as Citronelle.

    At least four victims approached MPD with allegations that Adams assaulted them within the department’s jurisdiction. More than one accuser indicated that they were minors when Adams began to abuse them. Authorities said that the victims’ abuse began “at about 12 and it continued until about 30 to 31 years of age.”

    Charged with Rape, Sodomy, & Sexual Abuse

    Adams was arrested on multiple charges of first‐degree rape, second‐degree rape, first‐degree sodomy, and sexual abuse. Adams reportedly apologized as he was taken into custody. First nodding his head in response to a reporter’s question of whether he was sorry and then, following a prompt, stating: “I’m sorry.”

    Authorities applauded the bravery of the victims in reporting Adams and thanked them for helping to hold the pastor accountable.

    MPD asks that any other possible victims, witnesses, or people with information in connection with the investigation into Adams contact the department at 251‐208‐7211 or the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office at 251‐574‐8633.
