Florida Hero Lawnmower Man Saves Dying Man

Around his Florida neighborhood, lawn guy Tony is a familiar sight. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says folks often see him pushing his lawnmower around taking care of grass-cuttings jobs.

But this lawnmower man turned into a hero while he was walking to work on Monday. He spotted a neighbor having a serious seizure.

Out of Control Car

As a result, the vehicle was out of control and rolling down Dunes Road. Tony knew he had to stop it before someone was seriously hurt and sprang into action. He cased the vehicle and grabbed it by the fender to stop it from getting any further down the street and injuring someone.

Unfortunately, the vehicle ran over Tony’s foot. Fortunately, hardworking Tony was wearing a pair of steel-toe boots.

The vehicle rolled to a stop on a neighbor’s lawn. The driver was convulsing violently inside the vehicle and appeared to be in rough shape. However, the windows were up and the doors locked. Tony could not get to the man.

Get Off My Lawn!

Hero Tony screamed for help and begged for anyone to lend a hand. Incredibly, the owners of the home where the car rolled to a stop had only this to say, “Get off our lawn! Get the man out of here! Have him die somewhere else!”

Tony was stunned to see someone be so uncaring, but he wasn’t about to give up. He knew where the injured man lived, so he ran down the street to alert the man’s wife. They called 911 and first responders were able to get to the man in time to save him.

The Sheriff’s Office was happy to report that they received a call from the victim on Wednesday. He called officers to find out Tony’s phone number, “I want to talk to Tony. He saved my life”

The grateful man and his wife found Tony and gave him a big hug to thank him for his actions.

Backlash Against Uncaring Neighbors

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office posted a picture of hero Tony on social media, saying, “We want to take a moment to recognize this local HERO.”

Commenters on the Facebook post showered Tony with praise:

“TONY, YOU ARE A TRUE EARTH ANGEL.....I hope you win the Lottery and have many many years of Happiness and Health ahead of you.”

Others called for the not-so-nice neighbors to be shamed. “We're real proud of you, Tony, for you're a real American hero in more ways than one and as for those people who yelled at you, let's see how they like being yelled at along with giving them plenty of total utter backlash as it's high time they're gonna get a great big taste of their own medicine and then some!”

“If there is to be balance in the world the identity of the clowns who yelled at Tony with no regard for human life would be outed so they can be properly shamed for it. Make them internet famous.”

“Kudos Tony, the world needs more like you, selfless and caring and definitely less like the idiot that owned the yard they were in ….shame on you.”
