Planning your wedding can be a daunting task.

There are so many details to take care of, from picking the venue and hiring a coordinator to selecting the perfect dress and finding good caterers and photographers for your big day.

One thing that often gets overlooked is how you want to get married in Texas.

Weddings are different depending on where in the Lone Star State you'll say, "I do." Still, this mini-guide will answer all of your questions about getting married in Texas.

While Texas is a vast state, today we will focus on the Texas Hill Country, specifically the San Antonio and Austin areas.

Having two daughters who have both been married in this region, I'm kind of in tune with the who and the what of creating a special day.

    So off we go!

    Let's start with the basics

Texas is a pretty big state. Not only in terms of landmass but also in terms of population.

With more than 28 million people and so many different geographic areas, there isn't a "one size fits all" Texas-style wedding.

From the bohemian style celebrations to the chic, more traditional bashes and all the way to the minimalist affairs, which also seem to hold a special place with some, weddings in the Lone Star state represent a variety of tastes and cultures.

According to WeddingWire data, the most popular month to wed is in October. Likely because of the milder temps. I mean, if you know Texas, then you know that summer times are hot. Wicked hot. Most Texan couples and weddings generally are inviting between 110 and 128 wedding guests. And finally, between 12 and 15 wedding vendors assist couples in getting married in Texas.

    So let's talk weather now

The climate varies depending on where you'll be wed. As I mentioned, we're focused on the central Texas hill country region. Not only will the time of year matter, but so will the actual area you choose.

Inner-city San Antonio or Austin may prove to be a more traditional and air-conditioned setting, but the allure of a Texas "ranch style" wedding is without a doubt making a tremendous showing.

I know for a fact. Both of my daughters had an outdoor, ranch, and farm-style ceremony.

Central Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, and the rest of the Hill Country fall into the climate zone of semi-arid and humid subtropical climate patterns. Knowing this, the time of the year is of keen importance.

Hot and humid weather marks the summer, and it's important to know that the wettest months are April and May. Finally, Texas is known for its mild and dry winter seasons.

So keep these facts in mind for sure.

What are Hill Country Weddings like?

    Now we're talking details.

Central Texas and its rolling hills are quintessential Texas and is a place where many couples seek unique and beautiful locales. "If I could give 10 stars I would! I can not say enough about the ladies at The Allen Farmhaus. They really made everything so easy during the wedding planning process. Cassie and Maitlyn made us feel like family every time we took a tour. They listened to our ideas and even helped us choose many of our vendors from their recommendations. The day of our wedding, they helped everything run so smoothly. I had such a calm day and was not stressed, thanks to these ladies! Not only did they do a great job helping with my wedding, I received so many compliments on the venue! They really thought of every detail to make weddings special.
