    Cuyahoga River Rally celebrates a river renewed

    CLEVELAND, OH — The Cuyahoga River Rally celebrates the progress of the Cuyahoga River and the recreational and lifestyle enhancements clean water provides.

    Join the Canalway Partner to celebrate with a full day of fun along the river at Hart Crane Park. It is located on the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland’s Flats neighborhood, just north of the Columbus Road Bridge.

    The event will be held on Saturday, June 19, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are not required to enter the event, but advance registration is required as space will be limited.

    Followings are the free events and tours you can experience:

    • Partner Festival Village with Live Music + Hands-On Activities

    Our friends at PHASTAR are bringing the Putzfrau to the Cuyahoga River Rally! The Putzfrau “Cleaning Lady” is the vessel renowned for the early 1970s cleanup of the Cuyahoga.

    Live music schedule:

    4:15 – Front Porch Lights

    • Adult Riverside Yoga with One Tree Love in Hart Crane Park

    A free outdoor yoga class along the river in Hart Crane Park.

    SESSION TIME: 9:30-10:15 AM

    • Family Riverside Yoga with One Tree Love in Hart Crane Park

    Inviting families with kids ages seven and up, even second grader budding yogis can learn and practice yoga movement and mindfulness with certified yoga instructor Lisa Meranti of OneTreeLove.

    SESSION TIME: 11:00-11:45 AM

    • Kayak River Clean Up with Trash Fish

    Bring your Kayak to the Cuyahoga River Rally and join Trash Fish in a fun and rewarding morning river cleanup session sponsored by Canalway Partners.

    SESSION TIMES:

    Session #1: 10 AM-11 AM

    Session #2: 11:30 AM-12:30 PM

    • Guided Kayak Cuyahoga River History Tour

    You’ll learn about the history of the river, current projects, and plans, and you can help restore and improve Cuyahoga River water quality conditions.

    SESSION TIMES:

    Session #1: 11:30 AM-12:30 PM

    Session #2: 2:00-3:00 PM

    • Paddle With Your Pals (Kayak, Canoe, or Paddleboard)

    Costumes encouraged! Upcycle Parts Shop will be at Hart Crane park from 1-3 PM with their Upcycle Buffet to help you create the perfect outfit.

    SESSION TIME: 4:00 PM

    • Holiday Boat - River History Tour

    Join a tour boat for a complimentary 30-minute river history boat ride donated by Holiday Boat Charters.

    SESSION TIMES:

    Session #1: 2:00-2:30 PM

    Session #2: 2:45-3:15 PM

    • Walking Tour of the Lower Cuyahoga River Area of Concern (AOC)

    Participants will take a scenic walk along the Lower Cuyahoga River Area of Concern on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

    SESSION TIMES:

    Session #1: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Session #2: 1:30 – 2:30 PM

    • Where the River Burned – Bike Tour

    In the “Where the River Burned” bike tour, you’ll learn about the Cuyahoga River Fires and their history.

    The ride starts at Hart Crane Park and makes tour stops at Irishtown Bend, Canal Basin Park, Fire Station #21, Sokolowski’s Overlook, 1952 fire overlook, Collision Bend overlook, and returns to Hart Crane Park.

    Please note: Bikes are not provided.
