(SAN FRANCISCO) Police in San Francisco arrested a suspect in connection to a stabbing last Wednesday on Franklin Street, during which a 72-year-old store owner was stabbed in his left eye, ABC 7 reported.

The attack at Franklin Market took place early Monday after someone tried to break into the corner store unsuccessfully. After several hours at around 10 a.m., a man came running inside to use the bathroom and pushed the store owner, Petros Yohannes, who then tried to pull him out of the store.

Yohannes — who has owned the store for 25 years — was stabbed three times, including once in the left eye. A long-time customer, who is a doctor, came into the store shortly after and found Yohannes losing blood quickly and jumped to action. He called 911 and helped him until the paramedics arrived.

He was taken to the hospital for his injuries and will likely lose the eye. He has partial vision in his right eye.

Petros' family says he doesn't have health insurance and his wife just got diagnosed with breast cancer. They have started a GoFundMe page for those interested in helping him pay his medical expenses.

The attacker was caught on a surveillance camera leaving Franklin Market. He has been identified as 30-year-old Donovan Cole Catron. Police arrested him after he attempted another robbery on Monday at Third and Stevenson streets, targeting a 56-year-old man for his duffel bag. Officers on the scene recognized Catron from the June 2 stabbing.
