    1.Time spent on electronics

Are you addicted to electronic home devices such as,

    • flat screen
    • Facebook
    • iPhone

Many people like to scroll through their phones right before sleep.

It seems harmless, but it may be the cause of you feeling tired.

Your iPhone and TVs suppress the production of melatonin. Screens emit blue light, which decreases the amount of time we spend in REM sleep. REM sleep is a time that's vital for cognitive function. Besides, staring at screens strains and tires your eyes.

    How to fix it

    • Take several breaks if you work need to work on a computer all day.
    • Switch off your computer, iPhone, and TV before going to bed.
    • If you must use your phone before going to sleep, consider blue light set your phone to night-mode.

    2.Eating processed foods

Food fuels and gives your body energy. Make sure you eat all the meals you need per day.

There are different diets available. But, some foods will drain your energy, such as processed foods.

Processed foods carry few nutrients and energy for the body.

So, they will cause a spike in energy for a while and later cause low energy.

Many people always think of fast foods when they hear 'processed foods'

But refined sugars can also drain your energy. Foods with a lot of sugar lack the much-needed fiber. Instead, eat Vitamin nutrient foods to boost your energy.

    The fix

    • Eat a sweet potato and ditch white rice for lunch.
    • Eat cereals like try rolled oats with berries.
    • Substitute cookies for unsweetened dark chocolate with almonds.
    • Avoid French fries and eat popcorn.

    3.Taking too much coffee

What do you do after waking up? Do you immediately go to the kitchen to make yourself a cup of coffee?

Well, you aren't alone. Many Americans drink at least 3 cups of coffee per day.

Thus it's no surprise that coffee is the second consumed beverage in the world.

Coffee has caffeine which can cause low energy.

Studies explain that caffeine takes 45 minutes to absorb in the body.

That's why after you drink coffee, your body becomes active.

But when you drink coffee in the evening, it crashes you. Here's why

Your brain has a chemical called adenosine, which affects the sleep cycle.

Thus the caffeine in the body will bind with adenosine which tricks the brain to cause a spike in energy.

After the caffeine wears off, adenosine connects to your receptors which depletes your energy.

    How to fix it

    • If you're craving a hot beverage, drink herbal tea instead.
    • Drink more water, and you can add fresh slices of lemon if needed.
    • Avoid consuming caffeine co 6 hours before sleep

    Conclusion

As discussed above, bad habits can drain your energy. And harmful habits can be tricky to shake off.

Don't get it twisted, though; many people enjoy social media and weekend treats at Popeye's.

Try and make small adjustments and regain some of the lost energy.

Do not overdo things. Everything sweet and entertaining is enjoyable if done sensibly.
