Spending Summer Happiness on El Capitán State Beach

For our summer happiness, beach time is necessary and since the summer vacations are approaching fast it is time to plan your holiday before all campgrounds and accommodations are fully booked. Everyone always want those secluded beaches which never end up being as secluded as one imagines them. But if we all just behave a bit more respespecully we can turn even popular places into relaxing beach vibes.

El Capitán State Beach

If you're planning to spend your vacations in California and are still on the lookout for beaches you want to visit you should put El Capitan State Beach on your list. The beach is sandy but also has rocky tidepools to offer. Along El Capitan Creek, oak trees are standing in line providing shade for visitors in the hot summer months.

The setting of the beach is rather peaceful located on the sandy shoreline. The close proximity to Santa Barbara makes it a popular spot for day visitors and overnight stays. Camping, picnicking, and wildlife viewing are some of the popular activities on the beach and its surroundings. Countless sycamore, oak, and eucalyptus trees are protecting hikers from the scorching sun. Those hiking trails lead to picturesque viewpoints over the coastline. Mountains and sea meet each other create breathtaking views over the beach.

Watch out for wildlife while hiking on the trails and marine life especially between November and April when whales are migrating along the coast.

Lots of campsites are available at El Capitán campground and offer you a great stay for the holidays or a few days at least. The sites include a table, fire ring, and grill. Tents, trailers, and motorhomes are welcome at the campsites. Restrooms, drinking water, showers, and laundry facilities are available at the sanitary station.

Despite the pandemic, the beach has opened its campground and is as usual booked on a first-come-first-serve system.

Ansio Trail also invites bikers to go on an adventure and is an easy trail possible for all fitness levels. Other trails are open for more advanced and experienced bikers which also bring you to the more spectacular lookouts and viewpoints.

Fishing is another activity possible at El Capitan State Beach next to hiking and biking. You can fish for rockfish, calicos, and halibut or try out the new hype around surf fishing which will allow you to fish while sitting on a surfboard.

Birdwatchersá will love the variety of birds found in the area and even on the campground lots of birds come and settle down.

So, what are you waiting for? This beach with the stunning nature surrounding it is the perfect place to relax for a few days while still going on adventures. Just make sure to arrive early enough and still catch a free campsite!
