Georgia Aquarium will hold Atlanta’s most unique socially distanced yoga class that challenges both the body and mind this summer on Tuesday, June 1, at the Oceans Ballroom.

Led by a local instructor, Yoga by the Water includes classes designed to challenge practitioners of all experience levels while allowing them to enjoy incredible views of manta rays and whale sharks.

With just $25, anyone older than eight years old is eligible to participate and will get a 60-minute class and complimentary parking in Georgia Aquarium’s garage. The class begins at 6:30 p.m., while doors open 30 minutes prior. By joining the sessions, participants are also donating to Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation initiatives.

The aquarium recommends early booking as space is limited, and registration will be closed when it has reached its minimal capacity. As usual, there are a few social-distancing requirements and pandemic measures that participants must note beforehand.

Interested parties can register via Georgia Aquarium’s official website on https://www.georgiaaquarium.org/events/event/yoga-by-the-water-21/.

Practitioners are required to bring their own exercise mat, towel, and water and wear facial coverings such as masks at all times during the class. Before entering the aquarium, practitioners must have their bodies checked via a contactless scan and further maintain proper six-foot social distancing.

Advanced registration is required, and the aquarium will not sell tickets for the sessions at the door. As the ticket does not include admission to the aquarium, practitioners will enter the class only via the Oceans Ballroom Entrance on the first floor of Georgia Aquarium’s parking garage. Complimentary parking is available in the attached covered garage. Participants must show the ticket to receive the validation sticker.
