Governor Greg Abbott has issued a statewide executive order that requires all Texans to wear face coverings or masks in public spaces. This order applies to all counties with more than 20 positive COVID-19 cases. According to Click2Houston, "the Governor also issued a proclamation giving mayors and county judges the ability to impose restrictions on some outdoor gatherings of over 10 people, making it mandatory that [...] people cannot be in groups larger than ten and must maintain six feet of social distancing from others."

Abbott, during his press release, said that "wearing a face covering in public is proven to be one of the most effective ways we have to slow the spread of COVID-19." He also says that we are able to leave businesses open and move the economy forward so that Texans can still make money but everyone must do their part to slow the spread of the virus, and that includes wearing masks.

Tulsi Kamath of Click2Houston says this is a developing story and that more updates are coming.
