Hermon High Seniors teach finance to fourth graders
HERMON, Maine (WABI) - Hermon High School Seniors taught fourth graders the basics of finance. “We’re reading a book, and it talks about things you can spend with a dollar, things you can spend with $10, and it’s like penny candy or balloons. So, in our presentation, it talks about how you can either save your money or you can buy something, you want to spend or save it up for something important, or you can spend your dollar and buy 25 pieces of penny candy, or like it kind of just shows an example within our presentation of real-life situations,” said Saige Lang, Senior, Hermon High School.
Dexter teen reported missing has been safely located
DEXTER, Maine — A teen from Penobscot County who had been reported missing has been safely located, officials say. Dexter police were working with Maine State Police to locate the 15-year-old, who had last been seen at her home in Dexter around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a 10:28 a.m. release Monday.
Dexter Regional High School announces Class of 2024 valedictorian and salutatorian
DEXTER — Dexter Regional High School Principal Stephen Bell is honored to announce the valedictorian for the Class of 2024 Cally Gudroe and Salutatorian William Spratt. Cally is the daughter of Adam and Allyson Gudroe of Garland. Cally is yet to make a final decision on a college, but will be studying communications and journalism. While in high school, Cally has been part of varsity girls soccer, basketball, and tennis and has been a captain for all three teams. Cally has also been involved with Student Government, Key Club, and Global Discussions. Cally is a member of the National Honor Society and is currently serving as National Honor Society president.
