Chopticon Softball Wins SMAC Championship
GREAT MILLS, Md. – On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the Chopticon High School Softball Team took home the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) Championship by defeating the Northern High School Patriots 10-4. The game, which took place at Chancellor’s Run Regional Park, helped Chopticon improve their so-far perfect 17-0 season.

Tragic Incident At Thomas Johnson Bridge
SOLOMONS, Md. – Earlier this morning, authorities responded to a dreadful incident at the Thomas Johnson Bridge that resulted in the loss of life. Police were alerted at 1:09 a.m. of an abandoned vehicle at the top of the bridge, left running and unattended.
