Taylor Swift has seemingly taken a swipe at fans who congregate outside her former New York residence in biting lyrics from a song on The Tortured Poets Department .

The 34-year-old singer-songwriter dropped her 11th studio album earlier this month , and fans are still dissecting the lyrics and interpreting each of the 31 tracks. One of the songs, Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?, sees Taylor addressing rumors about her career and personal life in a rather direct manner.

Swifties have now "discovered" that some of the lyrics appear to be a dig at those fans who frequently gather and snap pictures outside her old Cornelia Street apartment, where she is believed to have spent considerable time with ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn during the early stages of their relationship.

Taylor, who parted ways with Joe in April 2023, famously wrote the song Cornelia Street for her 2019 album Lover, which was about the apartment she rented when she and Joe first started dating. Since then, fans have regularly visited the apartment to photograph its exterior.

In her latest track "Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me? " from TTPD, Taylor Swift appears to take a swipe at the obsessive fans who visit her former Cornelia Street residence. She sings with a biting edge: "I wanna snarl and show you just how disturbed this has made me / You wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me / So all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs."

Swift continues to challenge her listeners with lyrics like: "That I'll sue you if you step on my lawn That I'm fearsome and I'm wretched and I'm wrong / Putting narcotics into all of my songs / And that's why you're still singing along."

The Twittersphere, now rebranded as X, is abuzz with Swifties dissecting the potential references to her old apartment's allure. One fan posted: "'So all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs'... Yall have got to stop obsessing over Cornelia Street bc Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me breaks my gd heart a hundred times."

Another fan speculated: "so all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs - SHES TALKING ABOUT THE HOUSE AT CORNELIA STREET RIGHT (also lowkey throwing shade at all the stalkers love that)."

Meanwhile, a third mused: "Okay but what if the line 'so all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs ' has something to do with people always going to Cornelia Street.."

A fourth user then wrote: "So all your kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs YOU MEAN CORNELIA STREET BECAUSE IT'S FAMOUS AND NOT HERS BUT STILL HAUNTED BY HER NOW? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? " Another fan questioned: "Is she saying 'so you kids can go to my house with all the cobwebs? ' in reference to people going to Cornelia Street because I keep thinking that but I also haven't had time to analyze lyrics."
