Donte DiVincenzo of the New York Knicks was one of the better off-season additions around the NBA world. The veteran wing has played a vital role in their emergence into legitimate conference title contenders.

DiVincenzo, 27, entered Monday’s game against the Detroit Pistons averaging 14.5 points and 3.5 rebounds on 40% shooting from three-point range.

He came out of said game holding the single-game franchise record with 11 three-pointers in what was an absolutely sensational performance in a 124-99 win over Detroit.

The dude was absolutely on one en route to dropping 40 points on 14-of-23 shooting, including 11-of-20 from distance.

Some were not happy that DiVincenzo seemingly stat-padded in the fourth quarter of a game that was pretty much out of control. That includes Pistons head coach Monty Williams.

“I don’t care about their team. I couldn’t care less. Those guys, the way they got those 3s. I don’t want to be a part of that story,” Williams said of Donte DiVincenzo’s performance.

Knicks teammate Josh Hart was having none of it.

“If he didn’t wanna be part of the story, he should’ve told his guys to defend better,” Hart said after Monday’s Knicks win .

Either way, DiVincenzo’s recent brilliant performance was brought to light in a big way as his Knicks moved to 43-28 on the season.
