Heavy rains accompanied by strong wind gusts overnight into the early morning hours resulted in downed trees and power lines across the Hudson Valley.

In New Rochelle, Pinebrook Boulevard became impassable around 6 a.m. after a tree fell, bringing down a utility pole and sparking live wires. The fire department responded to handle the dangerous situation, and crews from Con Edison and the Department of Public Works arrived to restore power.

Drivers faced additional challenges due to ponding along many parkways and side streets caused by quick but heavy downpours. Strong wind gusts made vehicles shiver and shake during the morning commute, requiring drivers to keep both hands firmly on the steering wheel.
