Woodridge Green-Lights Speed Humps
On April 27th the Board of Directors of the Woodridge Lake Property Owners’ Association (WLPOA) voted to approve a plan for installing speed humps on Town roads in 3 locations within the community. The plan represented months of research and collaboration between the Woodridge Lake Safety Committee (WLSC) and 1st Selectman Todd Carusillo.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC – TOWN MEETING, BUDGET, MAY 29, 2024 AT GOSHEN CENTER SCHOOL AT 8:00 PM. 1st Selectman Todd Carusillo requested a needs assessment from the Public Works Department and Goshen Fire Company for their proposed new storage addition to the back of the Fire Department building. If a needs assessment is not received, the selectmen will have to create a needs assessment task force for the proposal. (Note: The Fire Co. has since advised that they already provided a needs assessment in January and presented it at a Selectmen’s meeting on May 7th).

Pedestrian Killed By Train Behind Washington Times Building
One person was killed by a train after being struck on the tracks behind the Washington Times building in Northeast DC, officials say. Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on May 15, DC Fire and EMS personnel were called to the 3600 block of New York Avenue NE to investigate reports of a person who had been struck by a train.
STOP-DWI Campaign on for Memorial Day in Putnam
CARMEL, N.Y. - Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville, Carmel Police Chief Anthony Hoffmann and Kent Police Chief Kevin Owens and STOP-DWI coordinators will participate in special efforts to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving this Memorial Day weekend. ‘Bizee Bees’ Putnam’s Spelling Bee champs
CARMEL – There was standing room only at the Centennial Grille in Carmel when Cove Care hosted its annual fundraising Spelling Bee competition. At the end of the evening, Team Bizee Bees, composed of members of the Brewster Rotary and Brewster Chamber of Commerce, were crowned champions by correctly spelling the word “chiaroscuro,” meaning “the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting.”
