LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A middle school student in Louisville is facing charges after officials say the student brought a gun and other illicit items to school. A Jefferson County Public Schools spokesperson said it happened Thursday morning at Highland Middle School on Norris Place. A letter sent to families and obtained by WAVE said that a search of a student’s locker first turned up a knife and a small amount of marijuana.
