Thursday PGA weather: A dry, warm start to the tournament - fog prompts delay
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — NOTE: AM starting times for the first round of the 2024 PGA Championship were delayed 10 minutes due to fog. After a couple of gloomy days for the PGA practice rounds, you can trade in that umbrella for some sunscreen as brighter skies are in the forecast for the PGA Championship on Thursday.
Consistent at making cuts, Mark Hubbard now aims to make it pay off at the PGA Championship
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Those big, crooked numbers bunched on one side of his scorecard made Mark Hubbard wonder if his luck was running out. He was thankful to straighten out things on the other side and remain within sight of the leaders at the PGA Championship. Hubbard’s 3-under 68 on Friday was three strokes off his opening-round score at Valhalla Golf Club, owing to three bogeys over a five-hole stretch on the front nine. Six other birdies more than erased those and kept him within three shots of leader Xander Schauffele (-12) on a rainy Friday delayed and dampened by the predawn death of a pedestrian worker, soon followed by the shocking arrest of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler because of an altercation with Louisville police. “I putted really well today,” said Hubbard, who needed a quick recovery with a morning start following a late Thursday evening finish. “I wasn’t moving quite as well, driving it quite as well as yesterday, so it made it a little tougher.

Canceling Memorial Day Hike, Bike and Paddle is a shocking move by Mayor Greenberg
Cancellation of Memorial Day Hike, Bike and Paddle event was most shocking and disappointing. When previous Mayor Abramson started this event, it was to encourage heath practices and bring communities from the entire Metro together. As an attendee since the first one, I can say it achieved that. No other festival draws the entire community together— all age groups, nationalities. So, continue to use our tax dollars for bike lanes where they are not used and discontinue...
Softball Recap: Scottsburg falls despite strong effort from Morgan Pool
It was a good run, but Scottsburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 8-2 to the Corydon Central Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Scottsburg of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
