Growing Idaho: Is the Treasure Valley ever going to get a commuter rail again?
BOISE, Idaho — It looks like the Treasure Valley will be getting a commuter rail system again. Just not anytime soon. Just a week ago, the CEO of Valley Regional Transit (VRT), Elaine Clegg, was nominated for the Amtrak Board of Directors. Amtrak is looking at expanding, possibly through Idaho. That would mean train routes from out of state moving through the Treasure and Magic Valleys.

The Idaho Board of Environmental Quality found that the agency it oversees issued an air quality permit for a proposed gold mine that significantly miscalculated allowable emission levels for arsenic-laden dust. UPDATE: Rafter located after missing in Salmon River
The Valley County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post that Thomas Gray has been found safe. -------------------------------------------------------------- The Valley County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) announced Tuesday that officers are searching for a 73-year-old man who went missing while rafting the Salmon River on Friday. Police said his blue Maravia Cataraft has since been located, after last being seen north of the Boundary Creek launch.
