Bongo Ron’s Cigar Social Coming Up
Bongo Ron’s Cigar Shop and Lounge is hosting its annual cigar social at Westbrook Elks Lodge #1784, 142 Seaside Ave, Westbrook, on Sunday, May 19, from 1 to 9 p.m., and tickets are going fast. Proceeds will benefit the Elks Veteran’s Fund & Renovations. There will be a full buffet dinner, live music by The Locomotives, a bourbon tasting, beer, door prizes, and a raffle. After experiencing a considerable degree of success at its original location at 16 Business Park, Branford, Thimble Island Brewing Co. has opened a second location at 75 Main Street, Old Saybrook. They are serving craft better, wine, hard soda, and seltzers, and “offering a full kitchen” too. Hours in Old Saybrook are Wednesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. As the new location gets up to speed, kitchen hours might vary, so call first to check if that’s important to you, 203-208-2827, or visit Thimble Island Brewing’s Facebook page.
