ODOT: Ohio 146 road closure and lane restriction on I-70
ZANESVILLE − The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced work for this week for Ohio 284 and Interstate 70. Resurfacing and related work on Ohio 284 from the Morgan and Muskingum County line to Ohio 146 will be ongoing through October. Starting Wednesday, the road will be closed to through traffic for 60 days with local traffic being maintained. The suggested detour is Ohio 284 to Ohio 146 to Ohio 340 to Ohio 284 and reverse for the other direction.

The balloons are scheduled to launch at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, with the Night Glow portion scheduled for 9:15 on Friday, June 7. On Saturday, check out the festival for the Whiz-Bang Science Show, live music, a golf ball drop, and another balloon launch The weekend will conclude with fireworks starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday. Cambridge honors the fallen with 2024 Memorial Day ceremony
Cambridge paid respect to those who gave their lives in service to this country during the 2024 Memorial Day parade and ceremony at the courthouse on Monday. The parade kicked off at 10 a.m. on the dot and traveled west down Wheeling Avenue. Classic cars, veterans, first responders and other participants waved to the crowd during the annual event.
County engineer: Eighth Street Road bridge to open mid-July; mowing begins this week
CAMBRIDGE −The Eighth Street Road bridge (County Road 33) between Wills Creek Valley Drive and Sarchets Run Road (Cambridge Township Road 635) is set to open mid-July after a delay from early April rains brought the project to a stop, according to a press release from Guernsey County Engineer Paul Sherry.Sherry said J&J Construction, which won the bid at a cost of $811,000, should receive precast concrete sections this week.“Using these precast pieces instead of a poured in place structure, the bridge will take shape very quickly and allow for the quickest opening,” he said.The construction is fully funded by the Ohio Department of Transportation using Federal LPA funds and Toll Revenue Credit through the Local Bridge Partnership program, according to the release.

Military Road will be restricted daily for utilities project
ZANESVILLE − The City of Zanesville has announced Military Road will restricted to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily from May 28 to June 7 from Dresden Road to Winding Way for a utilities improvement project. Temporary traffic signals will be used to maintain traffic flow. Delays should be expected and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.
