Police looking for suspect in package theft from porch of New Bern home

NEW BERN, NC (WNCT) — The New Bern Police Department is investigating the theft of a package off a porch in the Lake Tyler subdivision in West New Bern.

The theft happened on June 11. Officers said the suspect was seen driving a light blue, four-door sedan.

The New Bern PD advises these things can be done to help prevent these types of thefts:

• Have a Visible Security Camera on Your Porch
• Leave Instructions to Conceal the Package
• Use a Porch Lock Box
• Follow Package Tracking
• Require a Signature for Delivery
• Coordinate With Neighbors
• Get Packages Delivered to Your Workplace
• Request Deliveries to a Pick-Up Location
