    Nevada’s unemployment rate dropped slightly in March

    Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Unemployment in Nevada saw a slight decline in March, according to new figures from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

    Seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment dropped 5.1%, the same rate reported in the Las Vegas metro area. Both figures were 0.1 percentage points below February levels.

    In Las Vegas, the number of unemployed people dropped by 1,461 compared to February. A total of 61,180 people are still unemployed.

    Metro Las Vegas saw an increase of about 1,700 jobs over the month, DETR's monthly report showed.

    Information on cities showed Fernley in Lyon County with the highest unemployment rate at 6.2%, down from 6.6% in February. Southern Nevada cities rounded at the top five, with North Las Vegas at 6.1%, Las Vegas at 5.2%, Henderson at 5.2% and Boulder City at 4.8%.
