Woman dies, 2 men injured in head-on collision near Neosho

One person has died and two others are injured after a crash in Newton County on Wednesday.

Airine Gallen, 50, was driving south on Missouri Route 175 in a 2018 Nissan Kicks when the crash occurred about 5 miles north of Neosho, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. Her vehicle crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2000 Lincoln Town Car being driven north by 22-year-old Joshua Niswonger. Another man, 23-year-old Lakin House, was also in the car.

Gallen was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:56 p.m. Wednesday. Next of kin have been notified. Both men suffered serious injuries and were taken by EMS to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. This is MSHP Troop D's 24th fatality in 2024.
