    The Local Butcher LLC issues a voluntary recall

    The Local Butcher LLC, of Athens, announces a voluntary recall of 82.83 pounds of bacon, 48.52 pounds of peppered bacon, 15.21 pounds of bacon burgers and 89.66 pounds of whole hams due to product produced without the benefit of inspection and misbranding.

    The products were produced and packaged from March 4, 2024, through April 11, 2024. The following products are subject to recall:

    various weights vacuum sealed whole smoked hamapproximately 1 pound vacuum sealed packages of baconapproximately 1 pound vacuum sealed packages of peppered baconapproximately 1-2 pounds of vacuum sealed packages of bacon burgers

    This product was sold exclusively at the Canal Carry-Out retail facility located at 971 Chestnut St, Nelsonville.

    The products subject to recall bear establishment number “195” inside the OHIO mark of inspection on the front of the retail Canal Carry-out label. Images of the labels are located at the bottom of this message.

    The problem was discovered by a program employee performing routine records check.

    There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

    Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the ODA Meat Inspection Division website at: ODA Meat Inspection Recalls ( agri.ohio.gov/divisions/meat-inspection/recalls/ ).
