Natchez woman accused of causing apartment fire

NATCHEZ, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A Natchez woman has been arrested for arson in connection to a fire at an apartment building.

Manhunt underway in Rankin County for murder suspect

The Natchez Democrat reported the fire allegedly began as a domestic dispute between 53-year-old Sandra Carnell Covington and her son. She alleged set fire to his clothes, which resulted in damage at Susie B. West Apartments in Natchez on Wednesday, April 17.

According to police, Covington claimed her son started the fire. She was arrested on Thursday, April 18. Covington’s bond was set at $25,000.
