Radiothon raises money to battle childhood cancer (VIDEO)
LIBERTY- In it’s 13th year, the Thunder 102 & 104.5 Country Cares for St. Jude’s radiothon raised $147,135 increasing the grand total raised to fight childhood cancer to more than $750,000 since the event’s inception. Business and political leaders as well as members of the community joined Bold Gold Radio personalities Paul Ciliberto, Jenn Clarke, Eddie Wilson, Therese, and station general manager Dawn Ciorciari live on the air over a two-day period to raise money for the cause.
State police announce DWI, theft arrests
On May 1, at around 8:10 p.m. PA state troopers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Route 739 at Village Center Drive in Blooming Grove Township for a traffic violation. The police on the scene alleged that the driver, a 44-year-old man from Hawley in a 1988 Volvo, was “substantially impaired and incapable of safe driving while being in actual physical control of his vehicle,” citing the use of alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs prior to his driving. The driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. According to the police report, charges are pending.

PORT JERVIS– There was no shortage of conversation during the annual gathering of railroaders in the Tri-State area last Friday morning, May 17. Many of the railroaders meet monthly in smaller groups, and at various locations across the region. This annual breakfast gathering brings a larger number of railroaders together, with some traveling from other counties and communities.
Delaware River Basin Commission collecting items for food drive on June 4
The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) will host a distributed food drive benefiting food pantries in several upper Delaware River Basin communities. Donations are being collected through June 4 and will be presented to the Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry, the Wayne County Food Pantry Program, and the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless at the DRBC’s second-quarter business meeting in Narrowsburg, on June 5.
