A 46-year-old woman has been taken into custody under suspicion of kidnapping and fatally shooting a 35-year-old car salesman in February. Rosie Chavez, according to Chicago Police, is alleged to have fatally shot Crisoforo Osorio-Gonzalez on February 10 in the 3600 block of West 26th Street. Osorio-Gonzalez was found dead on February 13 in a Little Village alley.

After a Monday of changeable sky conditions and warmer temperatures we have a Tuesday that probably goes down as the best weather day of the week so take advantage of that. We are far enough away from both last night's weather system that brought showers and thunderstorms to the Mid Atlantic. That has now weakened and passed to the east. The next weather system and cold front will be impacting the Ohio Valley today so we should be in a good spot. We expect no worse than partly sunny skies today. High temperatures will reach the mid 70s to some lower 80s. Of course look for cooler conditions along south and east facing shorelines.

Tragedy struck a family in Clifton as two young brothers, aged 3 and 6, lost their lives in a devastating house fire. William Brice, 6, and his younger brother Zachariah Brice, 3, were pulled from their burning home on Whetstone Manor Court on April 10. Ryan Schooler, a 2006 BNI graduate and four-year varsity player while at Noll, has been hired to succeed John Dodson, Noll Athletic Director Cynthia Wilson announced. It’s a fair question: Have people experiencing homelessness moved to Denver for a free hotel room?. At least one man did. The mother of a missing man messaged me the other day to tell me she is looking for her son. She said he moved back to Denver from Florida thinking he could get a free hotel room as part of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston’s House1000 plan. Of course, those rooms all are full now. Also, most people who received the rooms were in established encampments that the mayor swept. There never were any rooms for people who might move to Denver one week to be housed the next.

The Scituate Animal Shelter of Massachusetts recently introduced Chewbacca, nicknamed Chewy, who they describe as a funny fella who loves everyone. “This adorable mutt is built like an oversized Shih Tzu and weighs 25 lbs. Since he was found as a stray and never claimed, we don't know much about his past.” Chewy has a personality as unique as his looks. "He is overly friendly with all, dogs included. He can come on a bit strong but in the kindest way. He wants everyone to be his friend!" states the Scituate Animal Shelter of Massachusetts, who is currently caring for Chewy until he finds his forever home.
