The state says the sugar maples are showing bright colors across the region while the dogwoods are turning reds and purples. “Even though it has been warm the past few days, this weekend we will see a drastic change in temperatures which should really catapult the fall color transformation in the state,” said ODNR Fall Color Forester David Parrott, in a statement. “Our fall color reporters are beginning to see ‘near peak’ conditions, especially in Northern Ohio.” Things will be downright chilly this weekend as temperatures are expected to plummet. The overnight lows in Greater Akron will be in the upper 30s on Friday night. The temperatures will dip into the lower 30s with widespread frost possible Saturday night into Sunday morning. Unsettled to Wrap Up the Week, with Coldest Air of the Season Moving In
CLEVELAND — Saturday gets better and better. Saturday morning won't look very inviting. It'll be chilly with some lingering lake-effect showers, especially early. Don't cancel those afternoon plans, though! We'll dry out and clear out as the day goes along, with sun returning Saturday afternoon. Highs will struggle to reach around 50°, so it'll still be jacket weather even with the sun.
