Tuition is rising for students at University of Alabama's 3 campuses
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Tuition is going up for those attending any of the University of Alabama campuses. The University of Alabama Board of Trustees on Friday unanimously approved the increase during its full board meeting, news outlets reported. Under the approved proposal, tuition rates at the system's campuses in Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Huntsville will rise by as much as 4% for the 2024-25 school year, trustees said.

Five SCS students named National Merit Finalists
Five students from Oak Mountain High School and one from Chelsea High School were recently named as National Merit Finalists. Finalists compete with all other Finalists in their state or selection unit for one of the 2,500 National Merit Scholarships. Winners are selected by a committee of college admission officers and high school counselors. National Merit Scholarships provide a single payment of $2,500.
