New John Day Budget Committee members to be appointed
JOHN DAY – Listeners got an update on the City of John Day Friday morning for KJDY’s Coffee Time. John Day City Manager Melissa Bethel announced that appointments for the city’s budget committee will be at their next meeting on Tuesday, the 14th. Bethel said they have plenty of applicants for the open positions:

PCHS Sophomore Sawyer Quinton is heading to state golf tournament

BAKER MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD: Bulldogs compete at Grant Union, Hines, Redmond
JOHN DAY — The Baker Middle School girls track and field team won the team title at the Grant Union Invitational on Saturday, May 4. The Baker boys placed third. Kate Norton set an eighth grade school record in winning the javelin throw with a toss of 93 feet, 9 inches. Norton, who swept the throwing events, as she has in other meets this season, broke the record of 93 feet, 7 inches set by Trischa Franke in 2008.
