A man accused of shooting and killing a teenager in January has been arrested three months after the fatal encounter.

D’Majay Michael Robinson made his first appearance in Gaston County Court on Friday afternoon.

The 18-year-old Concord man is charged with first-degree murder.

Porter was found shot and killed at approximately 11:39 p.m. on Gander Way off Lowland Dairy Road.

In the 911 call, a young woman said that her brother was shot.

"My sister saw two guys pull up, and they shot him," she said.

Then, two children described what they saw, saying that a silver car pulled up with two men in it, one of them wearing a mask. One of the men grabbed the person, and the other one shot him, according to the children.

Porter was laid to rest Feb. 10, leaving behind parents, siblings and several other relatives.

During Robinson’s court appearance, he asked for and was granted a public defender. The prosecution said it planned to send the case to the grand jury.

District Court Judge Angela Hoyle said Robinson would continue to be held without bond.
