MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – A local volunteer from Moundsville was recently honored in Charleston, West Virginia for her dedication to girl scouts.

Jody Gouldsberry of Moundsville was awarded the Honor Pin at the annual Girl Scouts Black Diamond Council meeting for all the hard work she put into supporting girl scout leadership and experiences.

The GSBDC oversee girl scout operations in West Virgina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Her dedication has had impacts on more than two geographical regions, which has helped girl scouts grow and retain members, and developing funding for the program.

Gouldsberry has been a part of Marshall County girl scouts for 27 years, and truly loves helping create memorable experiences for scouts.

“I’m shocked, because I never expected it. So, it was nice to be appreciated. I’ve probably had 400 girls go through here. And my goal is I take every girl that comes through here. I will never deny a girl a Girls Scouts experience.”

Jody Gouldsberry | Service Unit Administrator, Marshall County Girl Scouts

She says her “love for the girls” is what keeps her volunteering.
