Bond lowered for St. Albans man accused in child neglect case
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A St. Albans man charged with child neglect appeared in court Thursday, asking a judge to lower his bond. St. Albans police were called to Justin Burdette’s home in February to find unsafe conditions. Investigators said the house was filthy, containing piles of animal feces, loose wires, a caving floor and knives laying in reach of children.

Lawsuit filed by former Leet police chief against the township dismissed
A lawsuit, filed by former Leet police Chief Michael Molinaro against the township seeking more than $404,000 for what he called a breach of contract, has been dismissed. Allegheny County Common Pleas Court Judge Mary McGinley dismissed the suit with prejudice, meaning it cannot be brought back to court, on April 24.
Midland track star sets new shot put record
ONA, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Cabell Midland senior Michael Lunsford is now in select company in the shot put. Over the weekend, he broke Randy Barnes’ record of 66 feet and 9.5 inches with a throw of 68 feet and 6 inches at the Tudor’s Charleston Relays. It had been a record that was set back in 1985. WSAZ Sports caught up with Lunsford as he’s preparing for the state meet coming up in mid-May.
Man who pleaded guilty in deadly DUI crash sentenced to prison
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A man who pleaded guilty in a DUI crash that killed a mother and her daughter was sentenced to prison Tuesday. Andrew Wyrick, 26, was sentenced to 3-15 years for each of his four driving under the influence charges. He pleaded guilty to the charges in March.
