Break to start the week, but storm chances return
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - After a sometimes stormy weekend, things start out much quieter for the work and school week. Clouds will be present at times today, but so will a good amount of sunshine for much of it. This sun will push temperatures back into the mid 60s for most. Winds will be noticeable from the west or west-southwest throughout the day, with some gusts reaching toward the 20 to 30 mph range.
Heavy rain and severe threats remain
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Our second round of showers and storms continues to move through the state. Besides severe weather, we also need to be aware of the heavy rain threat into Sunday morning. As the second low begins to lift out of the region some thunderstorms could develop late Sunday. If they do there is a chance, they may be strong to severe. Monday brings a quiet day with Tuesday showing a return chance for some thunderstorms, currently not looking severe. Have a great night and a safe weekend.

Ottumwa students host Mental Wellness Expo to highlight important topics & share resources
OTTUMWA, Iowa — Students in Ottumwa hosted the fourth annual Mental Wellness Expo centered around the theme of community. Pointing to paintable puzzle pieces, Ottumwa High School student Breanna Dominguez told KTVO, “So that's why we came up with the puzzles. We’re going to make a mural out of it. Trio of thieves succeed in robbing northeast Missouri bank over the weekend
MEMPHIS, Mo. — KTVO has learned about a successful robbery attempt in northeast Missouri over the weekend. Per KMEM News, Captain Bill Holland, with the Memphis Police Department, said that shortly after 4:30 a.m. Saturday, at least three suspects were caught on security camera footage breaking into the ATM of Exchange Bank of Northeast Missouri in Memphis.
