Bottles and books: Cool Kids Read at Strey Cellars promises barrels of fun for kids and parents alike
On a drizzly Sunday morning, I took my family to a Cool Kids Read event at Strey Cellars. We walked into a twinkle-lit room filled with tables, a couch and bookshelves bursting with children’s books. A cheerful woman handed my son a goodie bag and pointed to a craft table and balloon artist. After helping himself to a few donut holes and requesting a purple balloon sword, my son joined the other children on a fuzzy white carpet for story time with a local author reading from their own book. During this event, the book was “Henry the Liger Finds a Home” by Robert J. Diamond. The main character is based on a dog named Henry, who happened to be sitting on the couch with the author. One child squealed with delight, “He came out of the book!”

We had the opportunity to talk with actor Justin Mark, who plays the oldest of Finch's children, Jem.
