Toby Keith To Receive Honorary Degree From University Of Oklahoma
For all of his life, Toby Keith was one of the Oklahoma Sooners' biggest fans. But Toby never actually attended the University of Oklahoma. The country legend and Oklahoma native played defensive end for his high school football team. But after graduation, instead of going to college, Toby went to work in the oil fields, working his way up to supervisor while also forming a band with his friends to play at local bars when he wasn't working his job in the oil fields. But the oil industry eventually started to decline, and Toby found himself out of a job in the 1980s....

Representatives of nonprofits and community agencies will be able to meet with residents at a place nestled in their neighborhood — a local grocery store. The Market at EastPoint & Eastside Eatery community grocery store recently celebrated the addition of the Bank of America Community Resource Room. Brandi Jones, a professional chef who serves at The Market at EastPoint, said the room was funded by a grant from Bank of America-Oklahoma City.

OK History Center hosts discussion on history of food in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma History Center is hosting a roundtable discussion regarding the history and evolution of food in the Sooner State. Officials say the discussion is planned for Wednesday, May 8, from 6-9 p.m. at the Chesapeake Event Center, located inside the Oklahoma History Center. The discussion will take place from 6-8 p.m. followed by refreshments and a networking hour from 8-9 p.m.

Every year, the Festival of the Arts in Bicentennial Park in downtown Oklahoma City is filled with performers, visual artists, and, of course, food. This year, the festival brought even more food than before with the return of food trucks in addition to the normal food booths and carts. The committee decided to bring back food trucks during its planning process because some of the favorite vendors don't have the infrastructure for food booths or carts, Phi Nugyen, food committee co-chair told us.
