Be on the lookout: Semi truck wanted in hit-and-run

MEDINA , Ohio (WJW) — Montville Township police need help identifying a semi truck whose driver they say rear-ended a vehicle and then fled the scene.

Police responded just after 9 p.m. on Monday, April 22, to the intersection of Medina Road and Normandy Park Drive in the township, according to a Facebook post .

The truck was believed to be heading east, coming from Medina, according to the post.

Though there were no injuries, the vehicle that was rear-ended sustained “notable” damage, according to the post.

After the crash, the driver was seen getting out to inspect his truck before fleeing south on Interstate 71 with the truck’s lights blacked out, according to the post.

The red truck has “distinctive” features including red and amber lights, according to the post. It was towing a lowboy equipment trailer at the time of the crash.

The driver was described as a white man about 50 to 60 years old, standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and having a “scruffy” white goatee.
